Life has been pretty full on lately with a full-time Web Design course, a house and family to run, and keeping up with my latest creative endeavour – this blog. I’ve had a lot of positive feedback which encourages me, and it’s a great experience for me as I never know what will unfold in the next post!
It’s a fabulous time of the year to explore the hills beyond Byron Bay and visit the famous Channon Craft Market as the weather is just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. The Channon Village is about a 45 mins scenic drive from Byron Bay and the market is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
The Channon Markets started in 1976 as a ‘Make it, Bake it, Grow it’ market and has evolved into a huge event for market goers and tourists, as thousands of people converge on the village each month to wander amongst the colour and excitement. There is a colourful website with pictures and information, including a google map to get you there.

Whilst in the area, it’s a good opportunity to visit the famous and very unique Nimbin. Here’s an interesting YouTube video about Nimbin.

The Channon Markets are indeed unique, and well worth the long windy drive through the hills.
